Orion Entrance Control, Inc. is Now Certified to Secure the World
New Hampshire (May 27, 2015) – To ensure that Orion Entrance Control, Inc.’s products can be deployed in lobbies around the world, an investment was made in ETL certification and CSA certification through the company Intertek, a worldwide group of testing laboratories. Orion’s products were put through rigorous testing of components, materials, systems and performance. These tests resulted in all of OrionECI’s products now proudly displaying the ETL and CSA compliance to UL SUBJECT 2593, ANSI/UL 60950-1, and CE.
As a result of successful Intertek testing, all of Orion ECI’s products meet the requirements for ETL certification and UL SUBJECT 2593, specific for motor driven turnstiles. This ensures that Orion’s turnstiles can be installed at locations in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70 for permanent electrical connection. Additionally, the application of the ANSI/UL 60950-1 standard is intended to reduce the risk of injury or damage due to electric shock, fire, energy-related hazards, etc. Orion ECI takes compliance with ETL certification and all testing standards very seriously by harmonizing all of their products to meet these safety requirements for markets around the world.
CSA Group, a standards development organization (SDO) that maintains American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and Standards Council of Canada (SCC) accreditation, provides independent testing – including ETL certification – and certification services for a broad range of product categories. This testing proves that products have met required safety and performance standards. The CSA mark on all of Orion ECI products indicates that they are certified to applicable standards written and/or administered by ANSI, CSA and other global organizations. This also illustrates Orion ECI’s product superiority in that each is accepted and recognized by many government and code officials, regulator and regulation bodies, along with leading retailers and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).
To foster future economic development for member states via the movement of goods, the European Union (EU) created legislation that requires manufacturers to display the CE mark on their products, packaging, and literature. The CE mark is known as the “Passport to Europe” for non-European- manufactured products, and consumers recognize products with this mark to be of superior quality. This enables Orion ECI to internationally offer and sell their quality access control solutions.
“The decision to proceed with worldwide accepted certification marking was an investment that directly supported Orion ECI’s expanding global clients,” said Orion’s President, Stephen Caroselli.
